Don’t worry…be happy :)

My mom always told me, ” if you are feeling depressed, then just get un-depressed.” Seems too easy and a bit silly, right? Well as hard as it is to believe, she’s right.

Just as happiness is contagious among friends, you can also infect yourself. When we’re down, it almost seems like we are so stuck on feeling horrible that we will never be happy again, no matter how much we want to. There’s not a single person out there that hasn’t endured at least one difficult time. The problem is, the world is beginning to depend so much on pills and therapy sessions that they forget about the organic cure to depression; a rejuvenated mindset

Now, I am in no way saying that you can simply wake up one morning and decide to be all better. But even a fake smile can turn into a real one. It takes a lot of will power, determination, and help from a friend to get out of a rut, but in the end you will feel much better knowing you conquered that beast without the aid of a quick fix.

For me, it’s always been exercise. When I get in the habit of staying away from the gym, I can already begin to feel a little down. As people, we need stimulation and lots of it. And as much as we feel like just sulking into the couch cushions all day long, we have to force ourselves out of the house.

Next time you or a friend is feeling down, spread happiness. Infect those around you with this contagious bug and you too will begin to feel happier. Putting a smile on can change your whole day and make you see the world from a much brighter point of view. I strongly believe that your mood depends on your outlook of life. Optimism breeds joy, so seek it out and spread the mood.
